Vision and Mission

A society, where the communities are empowered enough to analyse their own problems, assess their own needs, strength, and prospects (avenues), fix/plan their own developmental goals and are equally capable to act towards attaining these goals in self-sustaining ways to live a dignified life of their own.

Mission

To dedicate itself as a facilitating institution in the development of the downtrodden masses so as to be able to develop their socio-economic and cultural condition through facilitation of participatory Research, Training, Networking, Advocacy and Action Initiatives both at the grassroots and at a broader level.

Interventions Strategies

MASS works at two interconnected levels: the grassroots and the macro.

At the grassroots level, we adopt a cluster approach, engaging directly with communities in selected villages. Our first step is to build familiarity with the people, understand their problems, strengths, institutions and social dynamics. Based on this understanding, we initiate interventions through awareness programmes, educational activities and organisational development. Gradually, we strengthen local organisations so they can take up both developmental initiatives and issue‑based actions effectively.

At the macro level, covering the undivided Sambalpur district, we focus on broader issues of concern. We remain updated through continuous liaison, information gathering and compilation. Our experiences and ideas are shared with a wide cross‑section of individuals and institutions within the region and beyond, inviting suggestions, feedback, cooperation and collaboration. This exchange ensures that our activities and advocacy efforts are properly facilitated and enriched.

To reinforce both micro and macro interventions, we consistently invest in enhancing our in‑house capacities. We maintain active links with individuals, institutions and networks ranging from the local to the international level, thereby expanding our strength and reach.
