Sowing Change, Growing Hope: Biranchi’s Organic Farming Success

Katarbaga village has found a role model in Biranchi Rohidas, a dedicated groundnut farmer who has transformed his 1.5‑acre farm into a beacon of sustainable agriculture under the CDP‑MLIP. With his family of four, Biranchi embraced organic farming, avoiding synthetic pesticides and fertilisers to protect both his crops and the environment.

Through CDP‑MLIP, Biranchi accessed government incentives and expert guidance, boosting his confidence and profits. His success has inspired neighbouring farmers to explore organic farming and crop diversification, sparking a collective movement toward sustainability.

In Biranchi’s words: “The support from CDP‑MLIP has transformed my farming practices and livelihood. Seeing my success, my neighbours have started believing in organic farming and crop diversification. Together, we are building a better future for our families and community.”

Sunita Das, an SHG member from Jangla, shared: “Witnessing Biranchi’s journey has been a source of inspiration. His dedication to organic farming shows us the immense potential of adopting these practices. It gives us hope that we, too, can improve our livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.”

Biranchi’s story is more than personal success—it is a community turning point, proving that resilience, innovation, and collective effort can cultivate prosperity while safeguarding the environment.
